For our 7th anniversary we want more people and their pets than ever to come out and enjoy the day. We've welcomed so many great organizations, local merchants and food vendors as well as some wonderful events and activities. If you've attended past fairs you know what we're talking about. Check out the slideshow below or read the wrap-up from our 2014 fair to see what it's all about. Admission is always free!
Pet Look Alike Contest
The 2014 Help Willy's Friends Pet Fair was full of fun attractions. Here is the first place winner of the HWF Pet Fair look-alike contest! If your friends think you bear a resemblance to your best furry friend come down to the fair next year and see what our judges think.
2014 Parade of Stars
This year's parade was captured on video and posted on Youtube.

Our annual event raises public awareness and offers assistance to the local animal shelters, rescues, and organizations seeking homes for currently adoptable dogs and cats. This adoption event will showcase a variety of dogs and cats in shelters and rescues throughout the state.
In addition to local merchants and lots of food choices, this family-oriented event will also include:
- Adoptable pets, of course!
- Police K-9 demonstration
- Dog search and rescue demonstration
- Children’s activities such as face-painting, touch-a-truck, and a fun house
- Live music
- Pet agility demonstration
For those pets who will be attending, we will also offer:
- Free nail-clipping
- Free Pet blessings
- Free pet photography
- Pet reiki
- Pet psychic
- Rabies vaccinations and micro-chipping, provided by Durham Veterinary Hospital for a nominal fee.
Parade of Stars
Last but not least is our Parade of Stars - a parade of the adoptable dogs with an emcee introducing each and every one to the tune of thunderous applause from the crowd. It’s their 15 seconds of fame that gives these dogs reason to smile and enjoy the attention being lavished on them. It is an event not to be missed!
